JACOBS AWARDED BP OIL CRUDE FLEXIBILITY CONSTRUCTION PROJECT FOR ALLIANCE REFINERY

 BATON ROUGE, La., Nov. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. (NYSE: JEC) announced today that it has received a $9.4 million contract for the Crude Flex mechanical construction work and mechanical turnaround maintenance at Alliance Refinery in Louisiana.
 Jacobs, through its subsidiary company, J.E. Merit, will provide management supervision and labor for the mechanical construction work on the project. This will include equipment setting, materials handling, steel and piping installation, insulation, and scaffolding.
 Mechanical construction work began in August 1993 and is expected to be completed in April 1994. It is anticipated that peak manning will be 400 persons with the majority of people being hired from the South Central Louisiana area.
 Prior to award of this contract, Jacobs carried out the detailed design and procurement work, and worked with BP Oil to develop plans, schedules, and bid documents for the execution of the project.
