JACOBS ACQUIRES THE SIGEL GROUP

 PASADENA, Calif., June 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. (NYSE: JEC) announced today the acquisition of The Sigel Group, located near Philadelphia. The effective date of this transaction was June 1, 1993.
 Sigel is recognized as a world leader in providing engineering and design services associated with manufacturing plants for the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. Coupled with Jacobs' extensive full-service capability, the combined organization will be a leading provider of total project services to the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries worldwide.
 According to Noel G. Watson, president and chief executive officer of Jacobs, "This acquisition has significant strategic importance to Jacobs in that it adds valuable technical resources and specialized experience to our growing international operations in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and microelectronics industries."
 Both organizations, Jacobs and Sigel, operate extensively in the United States and European markets. Jacobs has been focused historically on the chemical processing part of the pharmaceutical industry and, more recently since the acquisition of Triad Technologies, on the biotechnology sector.

Jacobs has 23 offices located throughout the United States, United Kingdom and Ireland.
