JACK HENRY & ASSOCIATES ANNOUNCES QUARTERLY DIVIDEND AND THE CONTINUING IMPLEMENTATION OF ITS MANAGEMENT DEVELOPMENT PLANS

 MONETT, Mo., Oct. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Jack Henry & Associates Inc. (JHA) (NASDAQ: JKHY) announces that its Board of Directors, at its quarterly meeting, declared a regular quarterly cash dividend of 6 cents per share on its common stock par value 1 cent per share, payable on Dec. 16, 1993, to stockholders of record of its common stock as of Nov. 23, 1993. At Sept. 20, 1993, 8,686,811 shares of the common stock were outstanding.
 The Board of Directors also elected Board members Michael E. Henry to serve as Vice Chairman and Senior Vice President; Michael R. Wallace to serve as President; and William W. Caraway to serve as Senior Vice President. Jack Henry will remain Chairman and Jerry Hall will continue as Chief Executive Officer. These changes are part of the company's previously announced plans to provide continuity of management in future years.
 Caraway joined JHA in 1990 as Director of International Operations, served as Manager of Sales and Marketing from June 1991, until his election as Vice President -- Sales and Marketing in February 1993. He has been a Director of the company since August of this year. Wallace has been with Jack Henry & Associates since 1981, has been Manager of InstallationS?ervices since 1986, and has been a Director of the company since 1991 and Vice President since 1992. Mike Henry, son of founder Jack Henry, joined the company in 1979, became Manager of Research and Development in 1983, and was elected Director of the company in 1986 and Vice President in 1992.
 JHA provides integrated computer systems for banks and other financial institutions. JHA markets, installs and supports these in- house systems throughout the United States and overseas. The company's software systems have been installed at over 900 banks worldwide.
