JACK'S HEAD IS A MESS; STOKE boss Nathan.
Preston 3 Stoke 1 STOKE boss Nathan Jones believes Jack Butland's head has been turned by talk of a move away and a bid to salvage his England career.
The keeper (above) turned in a horror show as he gifted Preston two first-half goals and left Stoke bottom of the table.
It turned up the heat on Jones, who has won just two of his last 22 league games in charge, and leaves Butland's hopes of a European loan move and a return to the England squad at the 2020 Euros in tatters.
Jones said: "We were on the bus travelling down here and there was a big thing on Sky Sports about him being left out of the England side.
"No one talks about him being the Stoke goalkeeper, it's about him having to go, about him leaving Stoke - but he's got to do his job for Stoke first.
"I don't know mentally where he must be with all the talk."
Butland allowed shots by Daniel Johnson and Billy Bodin squirm under his body.
Josh Harrop added Preston's third before James McClean's consolation for Stoke.
