J.D. POWER AND ASSOCIATES RELEASES RESULTS OF CELLULAR STUDY CONDUCTED FOR SNET

 AGOURA HILLS, Calif., Jan. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- In a recent J.D. Power and Associates study for SNET MobileCom Inc. comparing Linx and Bell Atlantic Metro Mobile cellular services, Linx Cellular Service from SNET ranked highest in overall customer satisfaction among business users. Linx and Bell Atlantic Metro Mobile are the two largest providers of cellular service in the Connecticut/Western Massachusetts market.
 The study found that among business users, Linx subscribers were more satisfied on each of the four underlying drivers of customer satisfaction: call quality and coverage, customer service, value- added services and low problem incidence.
 "In the highly dynamic, investment sensitive cellular service market, gaining a clear understanding of customer satisfaction is particularly important," said Leonard Sherman, partner of J.D. Power and Associates. "As in many other industries, our study for SNET MobileCom Inc. revealed that customer satisfaction has emerged as a critical determinant of success."
 The Cellular Service Customer Satisfaction Study for SNET MobileCom Inc. represents a comprehensive examination of the key factors of customer satisfaction based on a sample of more than 700 randomly selected current cellular subscribers in the service area commonly served by Linx and Bell Atlantic Metro Mobile. The study also found that the typical business subscriber, those for whom business calls account for more than 50 percent of total cellular telephone use, is more reliant on cellular communication and therefore more critical and demanding.
