J. MICHAEL KEARNEY TO HEAD NATIONAL CITY CORPORATION PURCHASING AND PROPERTY AREA

 CLEVELAND, Jan. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- National City Corporation (NYSE: NCC) announced today that J. Michael Kearney, manager, logistical support services division of its subsidiary, BancOhio National Bank, has been named head of its corporate purchasing and property area. Kearney, 48, will report to Harold B. Todd, Jr., executive vice president of administration for National City Corporation.
 In his new position, Kearney will provide leadership and direction to the corporation's member bank purchasing and property managers to ensure that these activities are delivered in the most efficient, cost- effective manner. At the same time, member bank purchasing and property managers will retain responsibilities for providing necessary support services to their respective local banks. Kearney will also be responsible for ensuring that these services are delivered in a consistent manner, thereby ensuring continuity in planning efforts and projects.

 J. Michael Kearney has been manager, logistical support services division, BancOhio National Bank, Columbus since 1985, overseeing purchasing, bank protection, property management, forms design and printing, warehouse operations and office automation. Kearney joined BancOhio in 1981 as manager, systems and programming.
 Prior to working for BancOhio National Bank, Kearney worked in various capacities for Price Waterhouse & Company, Bank One and the U.S. Air Force.
 Kearney holds a masters in business administration from the University of Dayton and a bachelor of science from Morehead State University. In 1985, he graduated from The Stonier Graduate School of Banking. Kearney currently is a member of the International Facility Management Association - Central Ohio Chapter.
