Ivins hurts her cause.

Molly Ivins is right. George Bush is the worst President in a generation ("Call Me a Bush-hater," November issue). But her claim that "no one has ever proved that the Clintons did a single thing wrong" is itself wrong and hurts her cause. Lawyer Bill Clinton lied under oath at his deposition in the Paula Jones case. He did it while sitting in front of a federal judge. I may be old fashioned, but a lawyer committing perjury to defeat a civil lawsuit where he is the defendant is something that is very wrong. Had he only told the truth perhaps nothing would have happened. Excusing misconduct by officials in either party gets us away from the truth.
