Italian government plans decree to offset fuel costs.

Alitalia may be able to offset its high fuel costs under a new decree from the Italian government.

The government of Italy has said that it is working on a decree to allow the airline industry to offset the current high fuel costs. Transport minister Pietro Lunardi said that the measures were intended to offset the increasing cost of aviation fuel.

The information from the government stated that the decree would include the whole airline sector, Reuters reported, although Alitalia would be the main beneficiary of it.
