Italian Puglia Province Keen to Boost Trade Ties with Iran.

Summary: TEHRAN (FNA)- Italy's Puglia province expressed willingness to boost economic and trade relations with Iran due to the latter's significant role in the Middle-East.

The announcement came during a visit to Bari, the provincial capital city of Puglia, by Tehran's Ambassador to Rome Seyed Mohammad Ali Hosseini.Hosseini travelled to the city in a bid to visit Edil Levante Abitare Exhibitio.Edil Levante Abitare is an international exhibition of materials, equipment and systems for housing Industry. The event is being organized by Fiera del Levante.For nine days, from September 11 to 19, the trade show will showcase all the latest products for housing industry under a single roof.Governor of Bari Carlo Schilardi told the Iranian diplomat that the Italian province is ready to expand and develop economic ties with Tehran, and proposed that a meeting be held between Iranian and Italian businessmen and industry owners.Schilardi also described technological exchanges in agricultural, railway and road construction as the most important fields for mutual cooperation between the two sides.The Iranian envoy, for his part, said that Iranian and Italian economies can play a complementary role for each other, and pointed out that Iran is a proper market for the Italian companies.Hosseini also expressed Iran's preparedness to hold an exclusive exhibition of Iranian goods and products in the port city of Bari.Puglia, also known as Apulia, is located between the Adriatic Sea, the Apennines, and the Gulf of Taranto.There are chemical and petrochemical industries in Bari and iron and steel plants in Taranto. The capital of Puglia is Bari.
