It seems we must dress to impress - the sales staff...

It doesn't hurt or cost anything to be polite or charming but many sales staff, especially in so-called up-market stores, are not: as if the purchaser is wasting their precious time.

Experience shows that if you, the purchaser, dress in your best and put on your 'airs and graces' you will be served with apparent pleasure. Go shopping in your house-clothes and you will be frowned upon, ignored or, at best given false and sarcastic attention.

Sales staff hover around the biggest potential tip, which illustrates their poor training and is just rude and lazy.

The old saying that, 'If a job is worth doing at all, it is worth doing well', should be applied by store owners and their staff.
