It's official: Ruth Davidson has no policies.
Byline: ANDY PHILIP
RUTH Davidson was branded a one-trick pony last night after senior Tories admitted the party doesn't have a policy platform to take on the SNP at Holyrood.
A source close to the Scots Tory leader admitted their success in the June snap election was because of a relentless unionist message.
But insiders say the party need new ideas and policies - which could include a fracking bonanza and tax cuts for the wealthy.
The source said: "We are not changing our stance on another referendum but we need a new message."
Davidson has already appointed frontbench Tory MSP Donald Cameron - who owns a PS6.5million Highland estate - to oversee the party's new policy direction. The SNP, who lost high-profile MPs such as Alex Salmond to the Tories in June, said Davidson will only back Theresa May's hard line on Brexit and austerity.
Ivan McKee, the Nats' MSP for Glasgow Provan, said: "Even Ruth Davidson realises she's just a one-trickpony, obsessed by the constitution and the constitution alone - with no substantive policies on anything else."
