It's a spy in the sky...

IT MIGHT not look terribly impressive, but this is the British Army's latest weapon against the Taliban.

Sergeant Carl Boyd of the 1st Royal Regiment of Fusiliers shows off the Black Hornet Unmanned Aircraft System, which is basically a remote controlled miniature helicopter.

The device has three cameras on board that relay live video back to the operator, enabling them to remotely see in hostile environments.

The Black Hornet was on display yesterday for 1 Mechanized Brigade, which soon heads out to Helmand Province on a summer tour on Operation Herrick 18.
