It's Hy time you took a trip toTaggarts' new showrooms.

IT has to be the success story of the past decade, Hyundai's meteoric rise to motoring fame.

From fairly obscure beginnings, the South Korean manufacturers are now among the world's leaders in terms of quality build and value for money. The latest model from Hyundai is no exception. The ix20 currently has pride of place in Taggarts' new Hyundai showroom in Motherwell's Windmillhill Street.

They've taken over the former Jaguar showrooms - just look for the signage opposite the Jaguar and Land Rover showrooms.

The ix20's sharp front, neatly stacked rear light clusters and flowing sidelines echo the rest of the i range.

But it's inside where you register most surprise - because the ix20 really is a Tardis.

Be it overall space or stowage room for the little things in driving, the ix20 has it all. You can't help but be impressed by the dimensions of this supermini.

On the road, it's well up to the mark.

It sets a brisk pace from the off and it's smooth and as comfortable as anything else in its class. All this from a car that commands an impressive 65mpg.

But add the technical wizadry and "extras" that come as standard on the little Hyundai and you get a better idea of just how much value for money it is.

There's ABS with Electronic Brake Distribution, Electronic Stability and full safety kit. Not bad for a car costing about pounds 11,000.

At Taggarts, the slightly smaller i10 Classic is available at just pounds 6795.

That's almost pounds 1000 less than the recommended retail price. When buying a bigger i30 model, the savings become even greater. How about saving pounds 3000 on a new 60-plate, five-door, 1.6 Edition model? That's just pounds 10,790 for a car that makes the competition very overpriced.

It's no surprise Hyundai have become one of Europe's biggest success stories. They deserve to be, if only for the quality and pricing.

Taggarts, with their long tradition in the motor trade, recognise Hyundai's achievements - which is why they've invested in the marque.

The fact there's a new showroom staffed by knowledgeable and fully trained experts is no accident. It's all part of Taggarts' faith in Hyundai as a brand with a long-term future.

There's also a huge range of pre-owned Hyundai models to choose from in Motherwell.

This festive season might just be the right time to pop into the Windmillhill Street showrooms and get into a Hyundai.
