It'd be nice to organize common football championship among Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Russia, President says.

President Almazbek Atambayev on June 15 met with the players of the national football team of Kyrgyzstan before the match of the qualifying round of the World Cup 2018 against Australia.

The meeting of the President with the national team players was held at Bishkek stadium named after Dolon Omurzakov, also known as the Spartak stadium.

Atambayev wished the team good luck and said that the state was ready to help to the development of football in the country.

"Australia is a very serious contender. Such strong teams have not visited Kyrgyzstan yet. It is necessary to show a decent game. People understand the complexity of the game and will accept any result," he said.

The team captain Talant Samsaliyev asked the President to assist in strengthening the national championship.

"The strength of the team depends on the strength of the national championship. We need a modern stadium that meets all international standards," Samsaliyev said.

"This is what we thought, too. It would be nice if we could organize the overall championship among the football clubs from Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Russia, etc. This would give a good impetus to the growth of local teams," the President responded.
