Israeli warplanes target Palestinian training base in Khan Yunis.

| GAZA, July 10 (KUNA) -- Israeli warplanes shelled a training site belonging to one of the armed Palestinian factions west of Khan Yunis, southern Gaza Strip on Tuesday.

Palestinian sources told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that Israeli F16 war planes fired three missiles at a training site belonging to Al-Ansar Brigade - the armed wing of Al-Ahrar movement - in Al-Muharirat area, west of Khan Younis. "There were no immediate reports of casualties among the resistance fighters or citizens, but the location was damaged," the sources added.

Furthermore, the Israeli army confirmed that their warplanes carried out an air strike on the city of Khan Younis.

A spokesperson of the army, told Israel National Radio that aircrafts from the Air Force raided a training base belonging to Hamas in Khan Younis and a terrorist location in Rafah, southern Gaza Strip.

He said the raids were in response to firing several rockets from Gaza towards Israeli territory yesterday and to firing machineguns towards Yad Mordechai junction, south of Ashkelon, which caused material damage but no human casualties. (end) KUNA 101205 Jul 12NNNN
