Israeli settlers build a colonial settlement in the West Bank.
Ghassan Khraisheh, the chairman of Gois township stated today that the area where the settlers constructed their settlement was an area which Israeli court of justice had adjudicated should be returned to the villagers in 2008 after the court decided to modify the route of the racial segregation wall which goes past the village.
He explained that Israeli occupation authorities h ad on 17th of the instant month (January 2013) completed construction of the segregation wall in that area. However, villagers were surprised after a few days when settlers erected mobile "caravan" homes on Palestinian-owned farmlands. He added that the settlers try to impose a de facto status by staying with support from occupation authorities which argued by telling Palestinian liaison that these "caravans" belong to the construction contractor of the segregation wall. He revealed that when they monitored the settlers in the area, they found that they had been excavating starting from the village to the settlement in order to lay down water and electricity supply grids.
The Israeli court of justice ruled in 2008 in favor of modification of the route of the segregation wall which went past Gios village constructed in 2002 and according to the new notification circa 2820 acres out of 8600 acres which had been separated by the segregation wall will be returned to Gios villagers.(IY)
