According to Reuters, the banking regulator in Israel has opined that the banking system in the country is stable.

Rony Hizkiyahu, the banking regulator in Israel, has announced that even though the country's banking system is stable, steps were being taken to ensure the sector isn't badly damaged by any worsening of the financial crisis. He also said that further difficulties and challenges are not expected this year.

Hizkiyahu also added that lenders in the country are in a more favourable position than many of their peers worldwide.
