Israeli Attacks on Gaza Continue: Death Toll Stands at Eight, Including Three Children.

Gaza-PNN- Three Palestinian were killed on Tuesday evening and another one injured when Israeli fighter jets struck Gaza City, bring Tuesday's total death toll today to eight, including three children. At least 32 others were injured by the attacks as well. Local sources said that Israeli warplanes fired a missile at a group of residents near a local mosque in the al-Zaytoun neighborhood in Gaza City.The al-Quds Brigades, the armed wing of the Islamic Jihad, announced that three of those killed on Tuesday were Sa'di Halas, 23, Mohamed al-Harazeen, 27, and Mohamed Abed, 31, all leaders in the brigades. In a press statement, the group vowed to avenge the killings. Meanwhile Israeli naval boats bombarded the coast line of Beit Lahiya in the northern Gaza Strip. The bombardment caused damage but no injuries.Five civilians, including two children and three people from the same family, were killed on Tuesday afternoon when Israeli tanks attacked a house and nearby soccer playground located in the al-Shoujaya neighborhood of Gaza City. Medics said that five people were killed by the tank shelling on Tuesday afternoon: Mohamed al-Hilou, 11, Yasser al-Hilou, 16, Yasser Hamed al-Hilou, 50, and Mohamed Saber, 17 in addition to Mohamed Abed, 31. Twelve other civilians were injured, including four other children in critical condition, medics told PNN.The Hamas movement, in control of Gaza, said that the Tuesday attacks would not go unanswered. The movement held Israeli authorities responsible for the escalation.Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu expressed his sorrow for the four civilians that were killed by the tank bombardment of the al-Hilou home in Gaza City, and the Israeli army said it would investigate the matter, adding that the tanks responded to Palestinian gunfire. That claim is disputed by Palestinian groups.Earlier on Tuesday at dawn Israeli warplanes and unmanned drones struck several targets in the Gaza Strip, injuring 19 Palestinians, including seven children and two women.Israeli sources confirmed the airstrikes on Tuesday at dawn and said it come in retaliation to Monday's home-made rockets attacks in southern Israel, claimed by Hamas. Local sources said a blacksmith, a plastic factory, and a Hamas-run police station were hit, while Israeli sources claimed the army targeted Qassam rocket sites and training grounds. At least one of the attacks was carried out by an unmanned Israeli drone.
