IsraelEoACAOs Commission: Army Attack on Gaza Flotilla was Legal.

Tal Aviv -- PNN -- The Israeli Turkel Commission, investigating the army attack on the aid flotilla to Gaza, announced on Sunday that the deadly raid was legal. The report, 300 pages long, stated that the Israeli soldiers have acted in accordance with international and troops opened fire in "self defense".On May 2010 Israeli troops attacked aid flotilla while sailing to Gaza in international waters. The attack on the convoy left 9 Turkish aid workers dead, another 40 were injured. The Turkel Commission is an inquiry set up by Israeli Government to investigate the attack on the Gaza flotilla, and the siege on the Gaza Strip. It is led by Israeli retired Israeli Supreme Court Judge Jacob Turkel. The Commission includes two international observers, Northern Irish former First Minister William David Trimble, and Canadian former military judge Ken Watkin.Regarding the Israeli four-year long siege on Gaza the Turkel Commission said in its Sunday report that is not a violation of international law.The Turkish government has been quick to criticize the report, calling it one-sided and biased. Eight of the nine passengers who were killed on the 'Mavi Marmara' ship by Israeli commandoes as they boarded aid ships in international waters were Turkish, and one was Turkish-American.
