Israel resumes its shutdown of Karam Abu Salim commercial crossing in Gaza.

Gaza: Nov. 12 -- (BNA) Israeli-occupation authorities continued closing down the Karam Abu Salim commercial crossing in Gaza Strip on the pretext of deteriorating security situation in Gaza Strip.

Engineer Raed Fattouh, the chief of (Together) - the Committee in charge of coordinating entry of goods into Gaza - said that the Israeli side notified them about the down closure of the commercial crossing yesterday (Sunday Nov. 11, 2012) on grounds of deterioration of the security situation in Gaza Strip.

The commercial crossing is the sole gateway for the population of Gaza Strip after Israeli closure of two other commercial crossings namely: Al-Mintar and Naheloz crossings.

The security situation has deteriorated over the past few days when six Palestinians were martyred and tens others wounded in a spate of Israeli air raids and artillery shelling which targeted Gaza Strip. The Palestinian resistance factions shelled Israeli targets nearby with tens of rockets and bombshells. (IY)
