Israel,Jordan : ISRAEL'S NATIONAL PLANNING COMMISSION approves 2 pipelines for deliver to JORDAN.

Israel's National Planning Commission approved 2 proposed pipeline connections allowing the delivery of natural gas to Jordan.

The commission voted to approve the routes for pipeline links to Jordan from the north at Bet Shean and in the south at the Dead Sea.

Israel's Interior Ministry, said that the 2 locations allows for the safety, support and reliability for the future export of gas to Jordan.

Commission Shuki Armani said that exporting gas to Jordan is a project of national importance, including in the foreign affairs field, that necessitates a system of highest reliability.

The approval comes after Jamal Gamouh, negotiations on Israeli gas exports had been halted until the situation in Israel is clarified.

Noble Energy, Delek Drilling, Avner Oil and Gas and Ratio Oil Exploration, partners of Leviathan, signed a letter of intent to sell 45 Bcm of gas 15 years to Jordan's National Electric Power Co.

A final agreement was signed in Washington. The US administration has been involved in negotiations between the parties.

Noble and Delek visited Amman to reassure Jordanian officials that the deal was still on.

Israel's Anti-Trust Commissioner David Gilo revoked the agreement that allowed the partners to retain the Leviathan offshore licenses for the sale of the smaller Karish and Tanin licenses. The deal has been revoked to have been exempted the 2 companies from declared a monopoly in the domestic gas market.

Gilo ruled that the companies have to sell the Tamar or Leviathan field not to be declared a monopoly. Noble and Delek control 85% of Leviathan and 67% of Tamar, which began commercial production in March.

Talks aimed at a compromise have been taking place and are due to resume in the coming days.

Israeli energy industry sources say that the parties are trying reach a compromise before an upcoming hearing by the country's Restrictive Trade Practices Tribunal. The hearing has not been, set but local media have to take place at the end of January.
