Islam Karimov awards long-livers of Uzbekistan.
President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov awarded Shukhrat Medal to 14 people over the age of 100 signing the relevant decree on 25 August, UzDaily reports.
Mamadjan Atabayev (Namangan region), Dilbarkhon Atabayeva (Andijan region), Tuman Boimuradov (Navoi region), Buston Donayev (Kashkadarya region), Uljon Jurayev (Samarkand region), Yuldash Kodirov (Tashkent), Anor Mamataliyeva (Surkhandarya region), Karim Nazarov (Bukhara region), Khuriliko Nomonova (Jizzakh region), Tursunoi Rakhimova (Fergana region), Aisha Erimbetova (Karakalpakstan), Ugiloi Yulyakshiyeva (Syrdarya region), Ashirat Yusupova (Khorezm region) and Habiba Yusupova (Tashkent region) were awarded with the medals in line with the decree.
They were awarded for their fruitful work and achievements in strengthening independence, improving economic power of Uzbekistan, contributing to upbringing young generation, patriotism.
The Shukhrat Medal was introduced in 1994 and awards citizens of Uzbekistan whose honest work reached big successes in development of economy, science and culture of the country, education of younger generation in the spirit of patriotism and commitment to ideas of national independence and social progress.
The awardees also obtain one-time monetary reward in the amount of five-fold minimum wage.
