Ishraq to build Holiday Inn Express hotel.

MANAMA: A 22-storey hotel is to come up in Manama in the next two years, it was revealed yesterday.

The Holiday Inn Express hotel in Manama is being set up by Ishraq Gulf Real Estate Holding, the exclusive developer of the Holiday Inn Express brand of hotels in the GCC.

Ishraq, majority-owned by Dubai International Capital, is developing the 279-room property, the brand's first venture in Bahrain and the first outside of Dubai. It will join the three existing Holiday Inn Express properties in Dubai.

Ishraq chief executive officer Sami Al Ansari said the company is looking forward to offering a unique product.

"The hotel will be conveniently located in the business district, just minutes away from Bahrain International Airport, the King Fahad Causeway, Bahrain Financial Harbour, diplomatic missions and the shopping district."
