Is This Our First Look At Villain Shocker In 'Spider-Man: Homecoming'? PHOTOS.
"Spider-Man: Homecoming" villain Herman Schultz, also known as Shocker, was reportedly spotted on the set of the highly anticipated Marvel movie.
In a number of photos shared on social media, Shocker was seen wearing a practical version of the character's signature costume in the comics, and that led (http://heroichollywood.com/spider-man-homecoming-shocker-photos/) Heroic Hollywood to speculate that the baddie will be getting an outfit upgrade from Phineas Mason / Tinkerer (Michael Chernus), unless Peter Parker / Spider-Man (Tom Holland) gets rid of him early in the movie. (http://www.comicbookmovie.com/spider-man/first-look-at-bokeem-woodbine-as-the-shocker-on-the-set-of-spider-man-a144992) Comic Book Movie also reported that the costume seen in the set photos was apparently the first of the two outfits that Shocker will wear in the film.
It's currently unclear who took the pics, when they were taken and who the actor under the suit was. However, if a (http://www.bleedingcool.com/2016/08/19/has-bokeem-woodbines-spider-man-homecoming-villain-been-revealed/) previously leaked call sheet proves to be genuine, then "Fargo" alum Bokeem Woodbine was most likely the one sporting the costume in the photos.
In the comics, New York City-born Herman was a high school dropout who had talents as an inventor and an engineer. But instead of taking advantage of these skills to get a noble job, he became an infamous burglar and one of the world's best safe-cracker. After he was finally caught and incarcerated for his crimes, he developed a pair of gauntlets that could shoot air blasts, vibrating at high frequency. Because the vibrations could be very powerful, he designed a heavily insulated costume complete with yellow quilt patches that had the ability to absorb the shock.
Herman was created by Stan Lee and John Romita Sr. and made his first appearance in 1967's "The Amazing Spider-Man" #46.
Aside from Chernus, Holland and Woodbine, "Spider-Man: Homecoming" also stars Michael Keaton, Zendaya, Donald Glover, Jacob Batalon, Laura Harrier, Tony Revolori, Tyne Daly, Marisa Tomei and Robert Downey Jr., among many others.
The Jon Watts-directed film is slated to be released on July 7, 2017.
