Irish invest in local market.

IRISH investors are pouring millions of euros into Liverpool's property market.

They are buying u pa major slice of the apartments in the city centre. Exhibitions in Ireland showcasing property investments in the north west have proved very successful at hotels in Dublin and Cork last month. Irish property company Alchemy Investments is leading the way in bringing Irish investment to Liverpool. Managing director James Carroll said: ``We saw huge interest and about 50 people will be travelling over to Liverpool in the next few weeks with a view to buying.''

The real impetus behind the flood of Irish cash lies in the current state of their own economy. The Celtic Tiger economy which had seen property prices in the republic reach unprecedented levels, has now cooled.
