Irish Daily Mirror Comment : Twin wishes.

TODAY we pray together as a nation for the conjoined twins born on Monday.

The remarkable babies came into the world and immediately began a mammoth battle for survival.

Their mum and dad face a difficult time ahead, a journey into the unknown.

Only the lucky few survive into adulthood and we can only imagine what a shared existence holds for them.

Surgeons have decided not to separate the babies, whose bodies are thought to be completely joined.

Whatever happens in the coming weeks and months, we wish the twins well - and hope their parents have the strength to cope with the rarest of challenges.
