Iran eyeing Russian-made satellites.

TAHRAN (CyHAN)- Iran intends to cooperate with Russia in the space industry after the removal of economic sanctions, according to Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin.

"Tehran is interested in communication and meteorological satellites, and remote sensing devices," RIA Novosti quoted him as telling Russia24 channel Nov. 19.

"Iran became interested in our plans," he said referring to Russia's new federal space program.

"They want to have their own communication satellites, meteorological satellites and remote sensing devices," Rogozin explained.

The official added that currently Russia conducts 40 percent of all the commercial space launches in the world, but this holds only four percent of the global space services market.(Cihan/Trend az) CyHAN
