Iran Sends Condolences to Iraqi Nation over Demise of Grand Ayatollah Bahr Ul-Oloum.
TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani and Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Marziyeh Afkham expressed Tehran's deep grief over the demise of Grand Ayatollah Seyed Mohammad Bahr ul-Oloum, and condoled with the world Shiites, particularly Iraqis on the sad news.
In his statement, Larijani hailed Ayatollah Bahr ul-Oloum's role in establishment of a democratic government in Iraq after the fall of Baath regime in 2003.
He also sympathized with the family of Ayatollah Bahr ul-Oloum and prayed for the departed soul to rest in eternal peace.
Afkham, in another statement, underlined Ayatollah Bahr ul-Oloum's role in fighting Baath regime of former Iraqi dictator, Saddam Hussein.
The late Ayatollah Bahr ul-Oloulm lived in exile till 2003, when Saddam was ousted.
