Iran Earthquake Death Toll Rises to 483 with 12000 Injuries.

TEHRAN

The number of deaths in a major earthquake that hit Iran's western province of Kermanshah this month has risen to 483 and more than 12,000 were injured, according to a new toll.

Iran news agency (IRNA) cited a report from the medicine department in Kermanshah province saying that the toll was higher than that announced on Nov. 17 after the death of injured people.

A strong earthquake hit western Kermanshah province on the border with Iraq, measuring 7.3 on the Richter scale, two weeks ago, resulting in a large number of deaths and injuries.

The earthquake also caused major damage to seven cities and 30 villages in Kermanshah province, and more than 30,000 housing units were damaged.
