Iran, Bosnia Signed Economic Cooperation MOU.

The MOU was signed between Zanjan`s Chamber of Commerce and a delegation including Central Bosnia Canton`s tradesmen, Minister of Urban Development, Minister of Finance and Minister of Civil Affairs. Based on the MOU including 7 articles, the two sides will expand ties between the economic enterprises of the two courtiers. Holding international exhibitions in the two countries was the other topic agreed upon. The Bosnian delegation visited Zanjan`s industrial centers such as Iran Transfo (transformer manufacturer), Pars Switch (manufacturer of high tension switches), Nakh Tire (manufacturer of tire yarn), Khorramdarreh Agro-Industry, Likus Foodstuffs and International Exhibitions Company. On the sideline of the visit, head of Zanjan`s Chamber of Commerce said that establishment of joint companies is the best way to expand economic ties between the Chamber and Central Bosnia Canton. Establishment of joint companies might result in expansion f ties between the two countries` merchants and tradesmen as well as in their active presence in the other country, Ibrahim Jamili said. Zanjan`s governor general, Safar Nozari, also referred to the province`s remarkable potentials in the sphere of agricultural exports announcing readiness to expand bilateral ties in garden and farm crops. Bosnian Minister of Finance, for his part, said that his country`s capacity to produce electrical equipments has remarkably reduced during the post-war era and he hoped that the shortage will be remedied by the help of the province`s companies. Bosnian and Iran are finalizing a contract upon which 300 goods transacted between the two countries will be duty-free, he added. Once Bosnia signed peace contract with the European Union, the country will be a member state of the union, he said adding that "supplying our demands and requirements in the sphere of imports and exports requires a good and developed relationship with Iran". Bosnia`s banking system is fully privatized and an Islamic Bank is active in the country with which Iran make interactions, the Bosnian minister concluded. 2008/08/05
