BLACK Sabbath guitar hero Tony Iommi says he would love to write music for hit TV show Peaky Blinders. The Brummie rock superstar revealed his love for the 1920s Birmingham gangster series as he worked on tracks for top US cop show CSI.
Iommi, 66, is hard at work on a second contribution to CSI after producers loved the rock riff he performed for the November 2 episode.
And he opened the door to other hit shows, saying he would love to do more small screen work.
"This is just the start of something," he told the Birmingham Mail.
"I did the first piece for CSI - it's a rock riff played as the team comb a crime scene for clues - and they liked it enough to ask me for more." Just now he is enjoying Birmingham's Peaky Blinders which, although based in the 1920s, boasts a contemporary soundtrack created by the likes of Nick Cave, White Stripes and The Raconteurs.
"I do acoustic stuff as well as the heavy rock riffs," said Iommi.
"And it would be great to do something with Peaky Blinders.
My old mate Bev Bevan keeps telling me I should take a look at Game Of Thrones, too."
