A group of investors have agreed to purchase Brazilian firm, Itau's Chilean life insurance unit.

Jesus Diez, founder of transport company Turbus, Gonzalo Martino, controller of farming product distributor Copeval, Julio Jaraquemada, former chair of Banco Internacional and Boris Buvinic, former CEO of Itau Chile are the executives engaged in the purchase.

No financial details were disclosed. Itau has one of the smallest insurance operations in the nation.
