Intershop Enables Bertelsmann To Sell eBooks Online; Intershop enfinity provides B2C Solution for Bertelsmann Online Store.

Intershop Communications, Inc., the world's leading provider of electronic commerce applications and software solutions, today announced that Bertelsmann Online (BOL), the media and entertainment shop of the Bertelsmann Group, is deploying Intershop enfinity to sell electronic books online. By selling eBooks over the Internet, BOL has opted for one of the most innovative and effective distribution channels in the book industry.

Intershop enfinity's open and flexible architecture enabled a seamless integration with BOL's existing web site and back-end system. The new BOL eBook store offers 500 titles from 50 different publishers including best selling novels, how-to and special interest books in addition to online access to international publications like the Financial Times.
