This volume contains five keynotes and 93 papers presented at IMPACT 7, an international multi-disciplinary conference on printmaking that brought together artists, educators, writers, art historians, art theorists, and others at Australia's Monash U. in September 2011 to examine contemporary print-making practices and discourses. Beyond the relatively vague notion of "intersections and counterpoints" that has been adopted as the title of the volume, there seems to no unifying theme to the proceedings. Specific topics addressed by the keynotes include: the collaborative nature of printmaking, the multiple nature of the print inherent to the form of the print folio, the character of international contemporary visual arts practice from the South East Asian context, and changes in the historical context and significance of the graphic printed object.
