Internet vote urged.

HUDDERSFIELD people have been urged to band together to improve their internet connections.

BT is offering to upgrade the five broadband exchanges around the country which receive the most votes in an online poll.

Peter Walter from Birchencliffe Hall Road in Lindley has urged people to back the Huddersfield exchange at Milnsbridge.

He said: "I only get a speed of about 465Kbits per second which is very slow and I'm sure I'm not the only one who gets such a slow speed.

"The more people that vote, the more chance there would be of winning and getting the fibre in as soon as possible."
