Caption: Internationally recognized ceramicist Marie Bartels recently completed a stint as Citrus College's third annual Artist-in-Residence. Bartels taught summer classes at the Glendora, Calif. school, exhibited his work at its Hayden Memorial Library art gallery and worked with students to design and install two permanent ceramic murals. In keeping with the college name and the community's agricultural heritage, the seven-feat-tall installations feature oranges on one panel and grapefruits on the other. "There is a great feeling here at Citrus College; a sense of pride seems to radiate from students who attend this school. It really is a wonderful environment," Bartels said.
