Inter school college badminton in full swing.

LAHORE -- The inter school and college badminton reached to the semi final stage here on Wednesday at Nishtar park sport complex hall.

Director General Sports Punjab, Zulfiqar Ahmed Ghumman was the chief guest on the occasion and witnessed the matches with keen interest. All the participating players were also introduced to him.

Ghumman applauded the game skills of young players. These potential students are the future of our country. The way they are exhibiting their talent in Inter-School, College Games, we are quite confident that these young charges can become future heroes of the country, he expressed the hope.

Following are the results:

School girls' singles semifinals:

Laiba Masood (LGS Johar Town) beat Nimra Khalil (GGHS Umer Block) 21-7, 21-7 Asphah Goheer (LGS IAI) beat Mir Ghannia (LGS Model Town) 21-8, 21-19. 3rd position match: Mir Ghannia (LGS Model Town) beat Nimra Khalil (GGHS Umer Block) 21-6, 21-5.

School girls' doubles semifinals:

Laiba, Hamda Masood (LGS Johar Town) beat Asphah, Zainab (LGS) 21-9, 21-12

Mir Ghannia, Sania (LGS Model Town) beat Fareeha, Mahnoor (BLL) 7-21, 21-19, 21-8.

College girls' singles semifinals:

Manaal Tariq (Kinnaird College) beat Hadia Ishfaq (LGS Johar Town A Level) 21-17, 21-9.

College girls' doubles semifinals:

Manaal, Warshia (Kinnaird College) beat Iqra, Fizza (Govt Islamia College Cantt) 21-16, 21-7.
