Chip maker Intel Corp has launched a number of new processors, chipsets and platforms for its range of Xeon processor products.

In total, four new Intel Xeon processors are available at speeds of up to 2.8GHz with 512KB integrated cache. All four were manufactured using Intel's 0.13-micron fabrication process. Prices have been set at USD455 for the 2.8GHz processor, USD337 for a 2.6GHz version, USD234 for 2.4GHz and USD198 for 2GHz. All prices are for the processor in 1,000-unit quantities.

Three chipsets have also been made available - the Intel E7501 for two-way servers, the Intel E7505 for two-way workstations and the Intel E7205 for workstations with just a single processor. Pricing starts at USD92, USD100 and USD57 respectively for each of the chipsets in 1,000-unit quantities.

Finally, Intel is offering five server platforms that are based on the new processors and chipsets.
