Intego releases update to Mac anti-virus software.
Intego, a specialist in Macintosh security, announced on 6 May the release of VirusBarrier X5 10.5.8, an update to its anti-virus software for the Apple Macintosh.
The company said that this new version offers enhancements to the programme's logs and improves performance for several of the programme's functions. Log entries can now be copied to the clipboard and deleted individually, the application can now filter logs by type.
Malware is now logged in four classes: virus, backdoor, trojan and exploit, with a larger number of Windows malware detected and improved behavioural analysis for Microsoft Word and Excel macro viruses.
VirusBarrier X5 10.5.8 is available now. This version is a free upgrade for all users of VirusBarrier X5, and is available for download via NetUpdate, Intego's automatic update tool. No pricing details for a new copy were disclosed.
