Instagram CRASHES for Android, sending users into meltdown; A map produced by DownDetector shows that most problems are being reported from the UK, Russia, Australia and Japan, but it is unclear if the issue is limited to those areas.

It's one of the most popular apps in the world, butInstagramappears to have crashed forAndroidusers.

According to DownDetector, the problems started at around 04:00 BST, and are ongoing.

The issue appears to only affect Android users, who are having problems launching the app.

A map produced by DownDetector shows that most problems are being reported from the UK, Russia, Australia and Japan, but it is unclear if the issue is limited to those areas.

Several users have taken to Twitter to vent their frustrations.

Alyssa Westenberg tweeted: "Instagram is down. The earth is flat. David and liza broke up. 2018 is actually cancelled."

Matthew Robin joked: "#Instagram is currently down.

"Which means right now, this second, no one is a model."

And Kelsey McCoy added: "My favourite part of today has got to be that when #instagram is down, everyone goes on Twitter to discover the common problem of not being able to go on Instagram."

Instagram is yet to comment on the issue, and Mirror Online has contacted them for comment.
