Inspect a gadget? You're having a laugh; PICK OF THE DAY: Live football Sky Sports 1, 4pm.

SOMEBODY just reminded me that this afternoon's clash between Arsenal and Manchester United is actually quite an important game, writes James Milton.

Given all the excitement about today's match being screened in 3D in selected pubs, it's easy to overlook its footballing significance.

Fortunately, I am totally immune to over-hyped advances in technology.

The only gadget I possess is the iDon'tCare, an invaluable little device that blocks out anybody who starts talking to me about the special features on their new mobile phone.

Any nonsense about apps or wireless connections simply bounces back at the geeky dullard who's invading my personal space.

Is 3D really going to blow our collective minds? Maybe I'm being particularly cynical but, having experienced three dimensions for every moment of my waking life since the day I was born, the novelty has worn off just a teeny bit.

Perhaps if Sky introduced a feature whereby Arsene Wenger or Sir Alex Ferguson lost with good grace this afternoon, I'd be slightly more impressed.
