The six-day, five-night Laos tour begins with a half-day excursion around the most spectacular temples in Vientiane, including Wat Si Saket which holds more than 2,000 ceramic Buddhas, and Haw Phra Kaew [ETH] Temple of the Emerald Buddha, which now houses a fascinating museum. The temple tour continues at Wat Simuang and then That Luang, possibly the most important temple in Laos, which was built by King Setthethirat in the 11th century, before ending at Patuxai (Victory Gate) which is built in memory of all the Laotians that lost their lives fighting to defend the nation in WWII and the war of independence from France. Whilst in the capital of Laos, travelers will also have the pleasure of taking a trek through Phou Khao Kway National Park to see the wild orchids the park is famous for, led by a local guide from the nearby Ban Hatkhai Village. The following day of the Luang Prabang leg of the tour begins at the crack of dawn with the chance to see the fascinating early-morning alms collection procession, as locals rise to pay tribute to a long line of local monks. After that unique experience, travelers are invited to explore the temples in the region in a responsible way by a guided silent electric bike ride around the cityOs iconic temples after exploring the Royal Palace which now exists as the countryOs National Museum. Travelers will then cycle to see Wat Mai, Wat Sensoukarahm and Wat Xieng Thong. Day five provides the chance for travelers to sample authentic Laotian cuisine at one of the most famous family-run restaurant in Laos, Tamarind, where staff aim to educate and promote awareness of delicious local food. After lunch, travelers are then guided to the spectacular Kuang Si Waterfalls where they can take a swim in one of the many pools. On the return journey to Luang Prabang, travelers will also have the chance to stop at two local villages to interact with locals and catch a glimpse into the daily lives of Laotian hill tribes.
