| I WOULD like to thank the Ely Rafa Club and everyone who was involved in arranging the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the forming of the association.

Their hard work paid off as the superb entertainment, plentiful buffet and cheerful bar staff made it a night to remember. It was quite nostalgic, the music taking us back to the '40s and '50s.

I would also give special thanks to the Air Cadets who provided a guard of honour on the night.

What a wonderful job the new committee is doing in keeping the club running. Well done and keep up your good work.

Mrs P Jones, Fairwater, Cardiff | PAUL Seligman's list (You Say October 10) of those whom he thinks would benefit from proof that global warming is a myth, such as oil companies, leaves out the most important group that would benefit which is the ordinary energy user who at the moment pays extra on his fuel bills to subsidise wind and solar power which are uneconomic.

On the other hand can we trust the politicians and scientists who are spreading the gospel of global warming? We all know that many politicians speak with a forked tongue and as a scientist I regret to say not all scientists are reliable.
