Innovative artificial lift technology launched.
An innovative artificial lift technology for oil wells that guarantees output efficiency of up to 500 per cent was introduced in Bahrain. The patented technology called 'BPZ' Pneumatic Pumping System was launched here as part of a presentation at the Bahrain British Business Forum's (BBBF) Special Interest Group (SIG) for oil, gas and energy sector professionals meet, which was patronised by the Minister of Energy Dr Abdul Hussain bin Ali Mirza and attended by the BBBF chairman Khalid Al Zayani OBE and Simon Martin CMG, the British Ambassador to Bahrain.
Invented by Zadson Franco under patent and development with Petrobas--CENPES technology, the BPZ technology works in cycles of compression and decompression of gas, using the compressed gas available in the field. The rights to commercialise the BPZ technology worldwide is represented under alliance in the Middle East by Eartth Environment Services (Earth) and its joint venture partner, OAK Utility Solutions and Development (OAK), a Bahrain-based company.
The technology is adaptable and easy to install and is ideal for GCC oil field conditions with its successes of achieving great results, increasing production efficiency by up to 500 per cent, the key speaker at the presentation Abdur-Rasheed Omidiya said.
The presentation was facilitated by SIG head Simon Bromyard of OAK, and included other keynote speakers Duane Ragbir, from OAK's JV partner Earth, and Antonio Amaral. .
BBBF's SIG for oil, gas and energy professionals was established last year to facilitate networking and exchange of information amongst industry colleagues and is sponsored by OAK.
