Evan Chan has been promoted to quality control coordinator at Van Son Holland Ink Corporation. Mr. Chan's responsibilities will include establishing quality control guidelines, organizing all drawdowns, proofs on new color matches and production batches, and maintaining samples of basic colors for color matching. He joined the company 11 years ago.
The company has also announced that Richard Bergeron and Alfred Pepe have joined Van Son as technical representatives. Mr. Bergeron will be based in the company's California office, while Mr. Pepe will work out of Van Son's office in Mineola, NY.
Millennium Appoints Johnson, Names New Sales Representatives
Millennium Inorganic Chemicals has appointed Wendy Johnson director of manufacturing account and reporting. Ms. Johnson will be responsible for improving cost control worldwide for the company, as well as for the global standardization of manufacturing accounting.
Steve Seeb has been promoted to manager of strategic sourcing. lie will be responsible for sourcing of all strategic materials, including ore, chlorine, coke natural gas, oxygen, nitrogen and energy. Mr. Seeb has been with Millennium for 19 years, most recently as manager of worldwide materials planning and manager of process engineering.
Millennium has also appointed Kim Szeg manager of global procurement. Mr. Szeg is responsible for the procurement of materials and services such as travel, spare parts and capital equipment. In particular, he will define and implement an electronic procurement strategy to reduce transactional costs and working capital investment in spare parts. Mr. Szeg had been Millennium's global purchasing manager.
Millennium has also expanded its sales force with the addition of two new representatives. Jim Van Hulle has been appointed senior sales representative responsible for the mid-west. Mr. Van Hulle, who will be based in Cincinnati, OH, has more than 13 years of business management experience.
John Overland has joined the company as a sales representative and will service California and the Pacific northwest. Mr. Overland had been employed as a strategic account manager at Ashland Chemicals.
Dominion Colour Announces Personnel Appointments
Shaun Dunn has joined Dominion Colour Corporation (DCC) as marketing manager. Mr. Dunn will be responsible for marketing DCC's organic and inorganic pigments around the world.
Sandra Noble has joined DCC as customer service manager. Ms. Noble will be responsible for customer service, inventory planning and distribution.
Bob Ralph has been named vice president of commercial operations. In addition to his responsibilities for purchasing, customer service and distribution, he will assume responsibility for the sales department. DCC has promoted Eric Atlias to general sales manager for all DCC products and region. Mr. Atlias joined the company in 1995 as European sales manager.
MFIC Names Courtain Western Regional Sales Manager
Rocky Courtain has joined MFIC Corporation as western regional sales manager responsible for the western region of the U.S., Mexico, Central and South America. Mr. Courtain's responsibilities include sales of products for all three MFIC divisions -- Microfluidics, Epworth Mill and MorehouseCowles. Mr. Courtain had been employed by MorehouseCowles for 27 years prior to its acquisition by MFIC Corporation in 1998.
Dumain Joins UCB Chemicals
Eric Dumain has joined UCB Chemicals Corporation's powder resin business unit as group leader, powders, technical service and applications. Mr. Dumain's responsibilities include managing the activities of UCB's North American technical service as well as the activities of the development and applications laboratory.
Ciba Names Teto Ink Sales Specialist
William Teto has joined Ciba Specialty Chemicals' colors division as an ink sales specialist. Mr. Teto will be responsible for developing and serving key accounts in the northeast region. Mr. Teto joins Ciba after nine years at Toyo Ink America, where he served in a number of sales and sales management roles, including general manger of the specialty chemical division.
