Ingres signs agreement with Univention.

<p>Open source database management company Ingres Corporation today announced that it has entered into an agreement with Univention, a provider of Linux infrastructure solutions for the German speaking market, which will allow the two companies collaborate to combine the Ingres Database with Univentiona[euro](tm)s Corporate Server.</p><p>The company said that Univentiona[euro](tm)s Corporate Server (UCS) is a Linux-based open source operating system for servers in mission-critical business and government use. It also provides a pre-configured identity and infrastructure management system, supporting centralised, cross-platform administration of an organisationa[euro](tm)s IT system through a web-based interface.</p><p>The companies are planning to further integrate the two solutions to provide a open source solution stack which will support the integration of different appliances.</p><p>No financial details of the agreement were disclosed.</p>
