International Conference on Information Visualisation (13th: 2009: Barcelona, Spain) Ed. by Ebad Banissi et al.

Computer Society Press

700 pages

This year's conference reflects the current interest in the visual analysis of content in social media, geo-sociology, health, and business; and in the language of visualization and interaction as contained in the deeply rooted context and culture of knowledge visualization. About 100 papers discuss such topics as hierarchical temporal patterns and interactive aggregated views for pixel-based visualizations, hubs and authorities in a Spanish co-authorship network, hybrid visualization for maxillofacial surgery planning and simulation, multiple visualizations of the personal promotion histories of court nobles in Japan, the focused animation of dynamic compound graphs, and a coloring solution to the edge crossing problem. There is no subject index. The Computer Society Press is publishing proceedings so quickly these days that attendees may arrive home to find their copy already waiting.
