FIS has been a provider of IT and communications information services for almost 40 years. The company's current subscribers include business planners, consultants, service providers, IT staff, libraries, technology providers and government agencies. FIS' main subscription products include: Faulkner's Advisory on Computer and Telecommunications Technology, Enterprise Communications, IT Asset Management and Security Management Practices, a new monthly information service for chief security officers. FIS also operates a Competitive and Research Services division and a custom publishing unit.

Marty Murphy, the former FIS president and principle shareholder, has left his position but retains "a strong position" in the company. "We purchased the business in 1993 and have greatly expanded the breadth and depth of the service offerings," Murphy said.
