One hundred and twenty-four papers from the July 2006 conference present new developments in knowledge domain visualization, spatial and environment visualization, visual data mining, augmented and virtual reality, digital art, rendering, and applications of graph theory. The knowledge visualization session explores a pragmatic taxonomy of knowledge maps, geospatial anchoring of encyclopedia articles, and narratological representation of Australian aboriginal knowledge using a game engine. Other topics include natural textures for weather data visualization, FFT and convolution performance in image filtering on GPU, adaptive labeling for interactive mobile information systems, and a comparison of four ontology visualization techniques in Protege.
