Information Technology Disaster Resource Center to Participate in Iron and Steel Run - NYC to Quantico.

Fort Worth, TX, October 01, 2014 --(PR.com)-- The Information Technology Disaster Resource Center (ITDRC) announced today that it will provide communications support for the FDNY-Marine Corps Association Iron and Steel Run - NYC to Quantico, VA on October 4, 2014.

The FDNY-Marine Corps Association invited the ITDRC to participate in the event which honors 17 New York City firefighters who perished on September 11, 2001 and were former members of the United States Marine Corps. During the event the FDNY-Marine Corps Association along with its members and police escorts, will be transporting a section of steel from the World Trade Center towers in New York City to the National Museum of the Marine Corps in Quantico, VA. The World Trade Center steel will be placed on the museum grounds in memory of the 17 fallen firefighters.

“We are honored and proud to participate in the NYC to Quantico Run,” said Joe Hillis, Operations Director at ITDRC. “The events of September 11th, which were the driver for establishing the ITDRC, inspired so many of us to lend a hand when communities are impacted by disaster. We're grateful to the Home Depot Foundation for their ongoing support of veteran and disaster recovery initiatives, and for the grant which has enabled us to participate in this historic event.”
